Daymer Bay is a beautiful beach that at low tide forms long stretches of golden sand backed by dunes with views across the estuary. Home to the St Enodoc championship links Golf Course home also to the quaint St Enodoc church which stands enigmatically amongst the sand dunes, the final resting place of poet laureate, Sir John Betjaman.
Polzeath is within walking distance of St Petroc and is a very sought after coastal village with an attractive beach which is excellent for surfing and has three surfing schools and is watched over by lifeguards in the summer. There are many restaurants and cafes and good shopping facilities including a grocery store.
The harbour town of Padstow can be accessed via a regular passenger ferry at Rock. The estuary town of Wadebridge is 6 miles away sitting astride the River Camel which offers very good amenities together with primary and secondary schools, a cinema, a great variety of shops, sports and social clubs and access to the popular Camel Cycle Trail. Mainline rail services are available at Bodmin Parkway connecting with London Paddington whilst Newquay Airport provides a number of scheduled flights to both domestic and international destinations. Access to the A30 can be gained at Bodmin linking the cathedral cities of Truro and Exeter.
